Our story

Value Optimised Retrofit (VOR) was founded in early 2021 to meet the requirements of PAS 2035 and PAS 2038 which was introduced to ensure the  UK’s journey to reach Net Zero by 2050 was achieved.

Our team is a collective of construction experts with over 20 years of experience in commercial, technical, and operational aspects of construction and energy efficiency, with a shared vision to deliver high quality, fully compliant retrofit solutions at scale.

Mark Fouracre

Project Manager & Retrofit Coordinator

Mark has worked in various surveying and project roles across the construction sector, most recently for some of the UKs leading insurers.

Mark brings a background in defect analysis and client relationship management. He is a qualified chartered surveyor, a member of the CIOB and has completed his retrofit coordinator qualification and is working towards his DEA.

Ian Cross

Retrofit Assessor

Ian’s professional experience includes sales, account management, and IT. He shifted his career path towards sustainability and obtained certifications as a Domestic Energy Assessor and Domestic Retrofit Assessor.

With his extensive knowledge in project and relationship management, Ian brings valuable skills to VOR.

Jordan Bray

Jordan Bray

Retrofit Assessor

Jordan comes to VOR with a solid foundation in the building trades, an NVQ Level 2 in carpentry, and nearly a decade of experience in roofing. His diverse career path includes a stint in telecommunications, where he contributed to installing Openreach’s fibre optics.

Jordan is qualified as a Domestic Energy Assessor and Retrofit Assessor and recently passed his Level 3 Award in Energy Efficiency for Older and Traditional Buildings and asbestos awareness. His extensive practical knowledge and ongoing professional development make him a valuable asset to our retrofit assessment team.

Technical Consultant

After graduating with a BEng (Hons) in Civil and Coastal Engineering, Pete diversified his skills and trained as a Passive House Designer and OCDEA. 

As VOR’s technical consultant, Pete focuses on the technicalities of the retrofit design process.

Robert Dunoyer

Robert Dunoyer

Energy Assessor

With nearly four decades in the construction industry, starting as a tradesman and advancing to a RIBA chartered architect, Robert brings a wealth of experience.

Educated with BA honours in interior design and architecture, he led projects in Dubai for over ten years before returning to the UK to focus on sustainable design, including building his own low-energy house. Robert combines practical construction expertise with academic roles, teaching part-time at Chelsea College of Art and running his architecture practice, specialising in low-energy houses.

He is an OCDEA and PSI modeller passionate about sustainable building practices. Continuous learning in the low-energy retrofit market shapes his approach.

Jack Castley

Jack Castley

Energy Assessor

Jack holds a BEng in Mechanical Engineering and an MSc in Renewable and Sustainable Energy Technologies. He has collaborated with peers in academia to publish scientific papers focused on optimizing the use of renewable energy technologies for environmental and economic performance.

As an Energy Assessor at VOR, Jack brings his expertise to assess and optimise energy use in retrofit projects, ensuring they meet high standards of efficiency and sustainability.

Tiffany

Tiffany Cheung

Graduate Retrofit Energy Assessor

Tiffany’s background includes architecture, biology, and an MSc in Sustainable Development in Practice from UWE. Before her graduate degree, she gained work experience in fundraising.

As she joins the retrofit design team, Tiffany will use her diverse expertise to take on the role of a Retrofit Energy Assessor, conducting building energy modelling and identifying efficiency improvement opportunities.

Travis Carrigan

Travis Carrigan

Graduate Retrofit Energy Assessor

Travis holds a BA (Hons) in Sociology from UWE Bristol and a Master’s of Science in Society, Politics, and Climate Change from the University of Bristol. He is also a qualified domestic energy assessor.

Currently, Travis is focused on the coordination of retrofit projects at VOR, where his academic background and expertise contribute to the successful management and delivery of our initiatives.

Phil Partridge

Phil Partridge

Retrofit Designer: Lead Designer

Before becoming VOR’s Lead Designer, Phil built up extensive experience as an architectural technician and construction project manager.

Along with StJohn, Phil is responsible for delivering the design phase of VOR’s projects.

Yonas Berhe

Retrofit Designer

Yonas recently graduated with a Master of Architecture from UWE. His interest lies in architecture that solves real-world issues for people and how to achieve this in the built environment. 

Working at VOR as a Retrofit Designer allows Yonas to be part of the ambitious drive towards decarbonising the UK by 2050. 

Dani Kamla

Retrofit Coordinator/Designer

Dani is an experienced overseas architect from Brazil. Having completed her master’s degree in Interior Architecture at the University of Portsmouth, she has substantial experience in residential architecture.

Dani has joined VOR as a Retrofit Coordinator/Designer and will play an integral role in the delivery of projects.

Philip Leighton

Architect/ Retrofit Designer

Philip is an ARB registered architect with a passion for design. Having worked in large multi-disciplinary architectural practices he has a wide range of experience designing and delivering projects from single family homes to large scale education, commercial and residential schemes. 

As part of the design team, Philip is responsible for delivering the design phase of projects.

Barbara Voto

Barbara Voto

Retrofit Designer

Barbara graduated with a degree in Architecture and Urbanism in Brazil and is currently taking a Professional Practice Diploma course (part 3) at Cardiff University. She has experience in residential on-site architecture in Brazil, from conception to completion, including construction management.

Her UK experience includes working as an architectural assistant in residential and multidisciplinary architectural practices and as a freelance architectural designer. Barbara furthered her education with an MSc degree in Construction Management from the University of Birmingham.

Joseph Clarke

Joseph Clarke 

Technologist & Retrofit Designer

Joseph is a registered member of CIAT with a strong passion and background in detailed and technical design. His expertise spans a variety of projects, from historical residential buildings to small-scale developments and work within the healthcare sector.

At VOR, Joseph plays a crucial role in the design team, responsible for design sign-off on projects and leading the company in complex design measures. His breadth of knowledge and dedication to excellence ensure that VOR continues to deliver high-quality retrofit designs.

Nandor Eperjesi

Nandor Eperjesi

Senior Architect and Retrofit Designer

Nandor is an ARB and RIBA registered architect and has built experience in Germany, Hungary, Japan, and the UK, working on both international and local projects of varying scales. He has developed a strong passion for design, details, sustainable design, and environmental protection.

Nandor’s extensive background will be instrumental in spearheading major and complex projects while also overseeing internal teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality retrofit designs.

Leandros Koutakos

BIM Lead and Retrofit Designer

Leandros holds a background in Architectural Technology (BSc) and Building Information Modelling (BIM) Implementation (MSc). He has gained extensive technical experience as an Architectural Technologist and BIM Consultant across various sectors, including healthcare, commercial, residential, and conservation.

At VOR, Leandros will focus on developing retrofit design strategies for enhanced efficiency. His expertise will be instrumental in supporting VOR’s mission to deliver retrofit projects at scale.

Krish

Krish Krishnaj

Trainee Retrofit Designer

Krish graduated from the College of Engineering, Trivandrum (India), with B. Arch in 2020. He has one year of professional experience in architectural practices, focusing on residential and commercial projects. After that, his work focused on residential projects. Krish is currently pursuing his Part 2 M. Arch degree at UWE Bristol.

Ken Ho

Ken Ho

Architectural Assistant

Ken graduated from UWE with a BA (Hons) in Architecture and Planning. He has gained two years of experience working in architectural practices between his Part 1 and Part 2 studies.

Ken is currently undertaking his Part 2 MArch degree and has joined VOR Group as an intern on the design team, with plans to stay on in a part-time role as he continues his studies.

Kianaz Kohandani

Graduate Retrofit Designer

Kianaz has a background in Architecture Engineering (BSc) from Iran and a master’s
degree in BIM in Design, Construction, and Operation from UWE. Her expertise in
architecture and BIM equips her to contribute innovative and sustainable solutions to VOR Group’s projects.

As a Graduate Retrofit Designer, Kianaz will be instrumental in supporting the design
team with her fresh perspectives and technical skills.

Tiziana Di Ronco

Tiziana Di Ronco

Senior Architect and Retrofit Designer

Tiziana is an ARB and RIBA registered architect with a passion for sustainable and circular design. She has built a career on her interest in sustainable practices, studying at the Centre for Alternative Technology and working on initiatives aimed at industry-wide change. With experience in both small and large multi-disciplinary practices, Tiziana has managed projects ranging from small extensions and domestic retrofits to large-scale commercial and masterplan developments in the UK and globally.

At VOR, Tiziana is a key member of the design team, responsible for delivering retrofit design proposals and leading major projects, ensuring VOR’s commitment to high-quality retrofit designs.

Lily Beasley

Administrator Assistant

Lily joined VOR after four years at Dorset Council, where she completed a Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship within her first year. At VOR, Lily focuses on creating systems and procedures to ensure the smooth and effective running of VOR’s head office. 

Utilising her strong organisational and administrative skills, Lily plays a crucial role in maintaining operational efficiency and supporting the team’s needs.
