Two Rivers Housing
Location: Lydney
Client: Two Rivers Housing
Funding: SHDF
VOR was appointed by GCP Architects to support the delivery of the Two Rivers SHDF Demonstrator project in Lydney, consisting of 16 houses and bungalows.
The original scope of the project was to deliver fabric first improvements to the dwellings, but it was later changed to include ASHP (air source heat pump), MVHR (mechanical ventilation with heat recovery) and Solar PV.
VOR Group undertook:
- Retrofit advice
- Retrofit assessment
- Retrofit coordination
- Retrofit monitoring and evaluation
Process
The SHDF Demonstrator projects saw the introduction of PAS 2035, with VOR ensuring that the delivery of this project was compliant with the PAS 2035 process. The project team held regular site and team meetings to ensure the project was progressing smoothly. One of the main challenges faced was the change in the risk pathway from B to C with the inclusion of ASHP/MVHR and Solar PV, which required a higher level of design detail, sequencing and documentary evidence of measures and PAS 2030 installation compliance.
Despite the challenges, VOR supported the project team in ensuring the SHDF demonstrator was delivered in compliance with the PAS 2035 process and funding requirements. The project was successfully completed with a high level of design detail and supporting documentation, and the residents of the property scheme in Lydney now benefit from improved energy efficiency and reduced energy costs.
