VOR undertook PAS2035 retrofit services for a private client on their solid wall Victorian end terrace property in Bristol.

The client‘s aims were to reduce energy costs, carbon footprint and future-proof their home while undergoing a loft conversion and other works. The retrofit measures resulted in significant improvements in the property’s energy efficiency.

VOR Group undertook:

  • Retrofit assessment
  • Air testing
  • Coordination retrofit design
  • Thermographic modelling
  • Energy modelling
  • Design review
Co2 Emissions

Process

VOR approached the project by conducting a retrofit assessment of the property’s current condition and performance. This included thermal imaging, air tightness testing, and SAP modelling. Then, VOR proposed measures to achieve the client’s carbon reduction goals whilst ensuring best value.

The package included external wall insulation, roof insulation, underfloor insulation, new windows and doors, air tightness improvements, an air source heat pump (ASHP), and solar PV with battery storage. These were designed to reduce heat demand and improve the comfort of the property in both summer and winter while reducing the carbon footprint. VOR set performance criteria (U-Values) for each measure to achieve the best results for the client. They also reviewed the architect’s design to ensure compliance with PAS2035 and best practices for solid wall properties.
