VOR Inspires the Next Generation at City of Bristol College’s Construction Careers Event

During September, our Lead Retrofit Designer, Phil Partridge, had the pleasure of attending the Construction Careers event at City of Bristol College, invited by Bristol City Leap. The event provided a fantastic opportunity for Phil to engage with students, lecturers, and course leaders from the Construction and the Built Environment program.

For Phil, this experience held special significance—25 years ago, he was a student at the very same college. Coming full circle, he was excited to encourage and inspire the next generation as they begin their journey into the construction industry. Reflecting on his own career, Phil shared insights into the growing opportunities in retrofit and sustainable design, offering students a glimpse into what their future careers could look like.

At VOR, we are passionate about supporting graduates and trainees. The retrofit industry is currently facing a significant skills shortage, and we strongly advocate for initiatives like this event, which help attract new talent into this essential sector.

Events like these not only inspire students but also allow industry professionals like us to give back to the community, ensuring that the future of construction remains bright and filled with opportunities for all.
